Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Port – Emblem Shenanigans Unleashed!
Back to Black Ops 2: A Blast from the Past
So, Call of Duty fans, gather ’round! While the gaming world is busy dealing with some serious bummer news like layoffs and corporate shake-ups, Activision decided to spice things up by dropping updated ports of some fan-favorite classics: Call of Duty: Black Ops (the one from 2010) and Black Ops 2 (the 2012 gem).
Now, don’t get too excited just yet because there’s a catch! These bad boys are going for a cool $40 each—a bit of a price tag for nostalgia, huh? Plus, they’re only available on PlayStation, which means all you PC peeps are kinda left out of the fun. Come on, Activision, throw a bone to the PC gamers!
But hey, there’s a silver lining! These ports pack a punch with almost all the features from the originals, all spruced up and looking fine in 1080p. And guess what? One particularly notorious feature made its comeback: the emblem editor!
Emblem Madness – The Good, The Bad, and the Hilarious
This emblem editor is like the Wild West of creativity! If you thought you could only convey your artistic genius with paintbrushes, think again! Armed with a set of quirky shapes and symbols, players have the freedom to create just about anything their hearts desire… or their slightly demented imaginations.
Unfortunately, that also means we’re seeing some pretty questionable designs out there. I mean, who would have thought we’d once again be graced with swastikas, caricatures of conspiracy theories, and whatnot? Yup, the emblem editor is proving to be as powerful as ever, letting gamers express themselves in every way imaginable. It’s like giving a toddler a box of crayons and saying, “Go wild!”
Even though there are definitely some creative masterpieces and clever cartoons popping up, it seems like the darker side of the community is flexing its muscles a bit too. Seriously, how hard would it be to implement an option to turn off custom emblems? Back in 2010, that was a no-show, and guess what? Still no option this time. Good job, Activision!
As far as changes go, the new ports do take a hit with some modes missing (RIP wager matches!). But it’s a shame they left out more modern features like FOV sliders or high refresh rates. We expected a bit more sparkle from these updates!
So, while Black Ops 2 fans dive back in and upgrade their nostalgic gameplay, just remember: with great power comes great responsibility—especially when you’re wielding that emblem editor! Now let’s hope for more hilarious creations and, maybe, less of the totally inappropriate stuff.
