Marvel Rivals: A Wild Ride into the Marvel-Verse
Welcome to the Marvel Multiverse!
So, you might think Marvel Rivals is just another game filled with superheroes making ridiculous poses and an occasional shark guy showing up to steal the show. Well, hold onto your capes because Guangyun Chen, the creative mastermind behind this game at NetEase, has big plans. He says they’re transforming it into a Marvel “moving anime” experience. And honestly, if you know what that means, you’re doing better than me!
Goodbye Shooter, Hello Epic Adventures!
According to Chen, they’re not just stopping at the usual 6v6 chaos, oh no! They’re branching into new PvE modes – that’s player vs. environment for those of you who skipped school that day. Plus, there’s an exciting movie tie-in event called “Path to Doomsday” coming up! This event promises to feature five updates inspired by the Infinity Saga. So, you can expect more game modes and themed content that ties neatly into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Remember last Halloween when they tried a little PvE spice with the Marvel Zombies mode? It was like watching superheroes battle tough zombies while you crushed candy from your stash. Talk about a surreal experience. Not to mentioned how Thor’s hammer strikes seemed to barely faze those undead dudes — like, c’mon, give us some realism!
Now, as we prep for “Path to Doomsday,” which connects to the Avengers: Doomsday movie hitting theaters on December 18, I can’t help but daydream about a kart-racing mode featuring our favorite heroes zooming around. But I’ll probably have to settle for some good old co-op boss fights instead. Fingers crossed for more insane content!
