Unlocking the Magic of Inventory Space

So, you want to know how to make your inventory in Hytale larger than life? Unlike that other sandbox game where you simply slap on some fabric to get more room, in Hytale, it’s all about crafting! Yes, it’s not a Herculean task, but it does give you something awesome to strive for at the start of your adventure.

Increasing your inventory space is crucial because nobody enjoys running back and forth like a headless chicken just to stash those extra stones or precious food items. Why not make life easier and have the ability to collect more goodies? Think of all the cool stuff you can build without constantly needing to regroup with your base camp!

Crafting Your Way to More Space

The first order of business to super-sizing your inventory is unlocking the legendary Backpack. Spoiler alert: you can’t cram more stuff into your pockets until you do! This fancy little recipe becomes available when you hit Workbench Tier 2, and get ready to gather some items:

  • Wood
  • Fabric
  • Other delightful materials

Most of these goodies can be snagged from shallow mine shafts or caves, while the Linen Scraps might come courtesy of some humanoid mobs lurking around. Think of it as a bit of ‘shopping’ without the annoying lines!

Once you’ve got everything, pop over to your crafting bench, hit that Upgrade button, and voila! You can craft your shiny new Backpack. Now you’ll finally have space to scavenge those logs and ores without feeling like the world’s worst pack rat.

But wait, there’s more! You can level up that Backpack again. This upgrade takes place in the character sheet screen’s final slot. To make this happen, you’ll first need to improve your workbench to tier 3, and grab these items:

  • Some more wood
  • A pinch of determination
  • Your favorite snacks (just kidding, but a game fuel wouldn’t hurt!)

After you’ve crafted the Backpack Upgrade I, slot it into your character screen and feel the sweet relief of more space!

Now, if you still find yourself cramming items together like a bad game of Tetris, it might be time to go for Backpack Upgrade II. Warning: this upgrade requires a bit of adventurous spirit, as you’ll need to venture out and collect some memories around the world!

Backpack Upgrade II also comes from the fourth pack along the Memories reward path, needing you to gather an impressive 100 memories. You’ll need to visit those Memory Statues in the Edge of the Echo, located through the Forgotten Temple Gateway, so put on your explorer’s hat!

Once you’ve amassed those memories, trudge back over to that workbench and upgrade your bag even further. And remember, if you still feel cramped for space, maybe it’s time to rethink those hoarding habits. Stash away some of that loot and take a breather. Who knows? There may be more exciting updates on the horizon waiting for you!
