Felicia Day on Veronica Santangelo

Felicia Day, the queen of quirky roles and major nerd cred, has just dropped some bittersweet news about her iconic Fallout character, Veronica Santangelo. While fans are itching to see the Mojave desert bring its charm back in the second season of Fallout’s live-action series, there’s a glitch in the matrix: Day won’t be voicing her beloved character this time around. “Sadly, I’m not in this season,” she revealed in a recent YouTube video. Bummer, right?

The Adventures of Veronica and More

Now, for those who need a little flashback, Veronica is that super-smart scribe from the Brotherhood of Steel with a penchant for rebellion. You could almost say she’s a bit of a rebel with a cause! Fans are hoping for some nod to her character when the show decides to tour the Mojave again, but without Day’s magical voice, it might just feel like a bad fusion of gooey mole rat meat.

Cast back in the day after her success with the web series The Guild, Day initially entered the voiceover world feeling a tad nervous. “I’d never really done voiceover before. Getting the script that was like this…” she said, holding her fingers an inch apart, “was kind of intimidating.” But guess what? She rocked it! Veronica has so much depth compared to other companions, especially with her storyline about love in a community that doesn’t approve. “And that’s why I chose to destroy the Brotherhood,” she joked, “Sorry, Veronica!” Talk about a plot twist.

Beyond New Vegas, Day’s gaming resume reads like a gamer’s wish list: she’s been in Guild Wars 2, Stray Gods, and even Dragon Age 2, where she played the fierce elven assassin Tallis. Sounds like she’s got the gamer charm down pat!

In her mind, New Vegas stands tall in her top five favorite games – alongside giants like Skyrim, World of Warcraft, Stardew Valley, and, of course, Tetris. “Veronica is one of the best roles I’ve ever got to play. Not only because I got to dive deep into such a rich character, but because I felt integral to a story in a game that I truly love. I’ve totally played my character in different ways, but let’s be real, I always go back to myself,” she admits with a laugh. Now that’s some self-love we can get behind!
