Meet the Detour Degens
Now, hold onto your caps because the real kicker is that the town of Detour has its own gang—the Detour Degens! Sure, they might not be the most fearsome gang around, but they occupy their little corner of the town with matching jackets, cigarettes between their fingers, and a tough-guy demeanor that’s definitely more comical than intimidating.
These guys may not have the street cred of the Tunnel Snakes, but they make up for it with sheer determination! Imagine trying to establish your gang territory—only to find you’re on an overpass about the size of a breadbox. Talk about doing your best in an absurd situation!
If you’re eager to boost your rep around Detour, you have a few options. Help the town sheriff handle bounties, retrieve stolen goods for the merchants, or, you know, become best buds with the Degens. When I met the two Degens hanging out, they informed me that their leader was stuck in a jail cell—a mere 15 feet away from where they were lounging—which is both amusing and tragic in those Fallout confines.
There are just three members in this gang, so you can see why they need your help! The mission? Free their gang leader and prove yourself worthy of the Degen lifestyle!
Another gig involves tagging various spots around the town with the Degen logo. Because, you know, in a small town like this, everyone needs to see your gang’s art—right? Sure, everyone knows the Detour Degens by now, but let’s just roll with it for the sake of absurdity.
After completing this delightful task (which took about two minutes because let’s face it, it’s a tiny place), I was officially inducted into the gang! We went on a mini heist that hilariously went a bit sideways, but what’s a good heist without some hiccups? Spoiler alert: it ended fine, and now I proudly sport a leather jacket as the newest member of the Detour Degens, bringing the roster up to a whopping four members!
