When Does the Marathon Server Slam End?

After what felt like a marathon of waiting (see what I did there?), Bungie is finally flinging open the gates for players to dive into Marathon. It’s been almost a year since the closed alpha came and went like a bad haircut, but now it’s time for the Server Slam to shine. From now until March 2, 2026, at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 pm GMT, you can revel in Marathon’s revamped arena for free on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. No need for all those fancy pre-orders!

How to Get in on the Action!

No sign-ups, no hassle! Just hop onto your favorite digital storefront, grab that test client, and you are good to go. Plus, if you fancy jumping around between different platforms, you can do that too! Crossplay and cross-save are in; however, don’t get too attached—your progress won’t roll over to the actual game. Sad face!

Now, let’s talk about the sweet, sweet loot waiting for you. The Server Slam rewards players with some nifty firearms, fun cosmetics, and a smattering of other in-game goodies that will jumpstart your journey in the full game once it launches. Just by completing the introductory mission, you can snag a unique emblem and a player background that screams, “I was here first!”

Here’s the lowdown on how to score those scrumptious rewards:

  • Complete the first mission: Standard Arrival Cache
  • Reach Runner Level 10: Enhanced Arrival Cache (Green)
  • Reach Runner Level 30: Deluxe Arrival Cache (Blue)

While you won’t have access to everything under the sun just yet, Bungie assures us that they’ll drop enough content for players to get comfy and ready to rock once the game hits full launch. So get ready to gear up and bring your A-game! That’s about all the intel we’ve got for the Marathon Server Slam, but if you’re itching to crack some skulls and beat your buddies, make sure you’re prepped for battle.
