FF14 Evercold Release Date and Highlights from the Fan Festival
October 31, 2026

Mark Your Calendars for FF14 Evercold!

Alright, folks! Get ready to circle February 19, 2027, in your calendars because that’s when the FF14 Evercold journey kicks off with early access! The full launch? That’ll be happening on February 23, 2027. Game Director Naoki Yoshida, affectionately known as Yoshi-P, took the stage at the Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival Tokyo to spill the beans on all the juicy details. Spoilers: it’s a tad bit later than the initially promised January launch, but hey, good things come to those who wait, right?

New Features and Characters to Explore!

During the presentation, we were treated to a swanky new trailer featuring Visna, the pink-haired Miqo’te star of the show, doing her Zephyr thing. And hold onto your chocobos because there’s a newcomer on the scene! Meet Lagertha, the first mate of the Realmship of Water—totally not Ysale, despite the striking resemblance.

Now, let’s talk about jobs! Say hello to the Zephyr, a ranged physical DPS that’s all about those crossbow skills and flapping around with your new avian buddy, the Nephele. You’ll be able to start your journey with the Zephyr all the way from Gridania, raking in those DPS points like a boss.

Next on our tour is Sessrymnir, the Realmship of Earth, where you’ll frolic through lush fields and descend into mysterious mines sparkling with rocks. And don’t forget Skiðblaðnir, the windy Realmship where those cute little Köttr catfolk take residence. Yoshi-P couldn’t help but giggle at how obsessed everyone is with these fuzzballs!

Oh, and if you played the recent MSQ patch, you already know about those fancy elemental brands. If you have a different brand than someone else? Tough luck; they might just make your heart seize up and send you packing.

Now, onto the juicy stuff! Both towns in Evercold will have special jumping puzzles, so brace yourselves for some serious platforming! And after your adventure kicking it in the open world, get ready for a new adventurer activity screen that lets you track your shenanigans and earn awesome rewards. Weekly missions are your new best friends, making it all about flexibility and fun rather than the ol’ daily grind.

Also, remember those old daily demands? They’re getting scrapped in favor of something way more laid-back. So, if you get tied up over a long weekend, you can still catch up on rewards from the previous week—no problem!

Looking to strut your stuff with the new character creator? A benchmark tool is coming in December, allowing you to play around with some new features, including a nifty ‘contact lens’ system for customizing eye colors without the hassle of a full character creation. Plus, enjoy new action skins, so your teleporting skills can dazzle like never before!

Yoshi-P also highlighted the new auto-remount feature—no more awkward moments dismounting after talking to NPCs. Oh, and if you already own super-fast mounts, you’ll be pleased to hear that speed will apply to all your mounts! Now that’s what we call a quality of life upgrade.

When it comes to Alliance Raids, there’s a revamp on the horizon! Expect a split structure, making sure rewards feel as grand as the time invested. New Savage Alliance Raids will allow for a high-difficulty experience with more epic encounters, so prepare for some serious battles!

And finally, don’t miss out on the Gauntlet of Power, a four-player boss rush where players can jump into the fray at any level—no squad matching required! You can vote to continue after each boss, facing off against a wild selection of baddies without worrying about spoilers. It’s designed to be fun and light, perfect for those casual gaming sessions!

So gear up and get ready for Evercold, because the wait is almost over! And remember, pre-orders kick off on November 4, bringing with them some nifty in-game bonuses like the Wind-Up Köttr minion and the fabulous Halone’s Earring. Are you as excited as I am? Let’s do this!
